assorted first kisses
D.L. i shouldn’t have even been with you. i told myself i was not going to be “that girl.” it was the biggest adventure of my life up until that point, and i wasn’t about to not kiss you. a random bystander said we made a cute couple and you agreed. we danced too slow and too close to loud house music in an underground club and eventually in between sips of the drink we shared, you leaned your head down for a kiss.
T.P. i asked you for a goodnight kiss and you gave me a great one. then kinda fucked up the moment by awkwardly taking off your glasses and kinda leaning funny up against your car.
A.D. my first. there were so many opportunities for this to happen sooner it’s retarded. but i was so nervous and it took me covering my eyes in a blanket for you to finally steal that first kiss.
E.J. you were such a sweet kid and i still feel bad about not returning calls. our first kiss was good but not good enough i guess.
S.S. following a perfect first date, you kissed me on the front porch of my house in grand rapids. you sent me a text message right after that said “front porch rules.”
G.H. everyone else was passed out after a drunkin night out and we slow danced alone in the living room to one of my favorite albums. i kissed you on my favorite part of my favorite song. man, i liked you so much. i know you were too drunk to remember.
A.E. i don’t remember many specifics on the first one with you, but i know for sure it was after karaoke at the black rose, lots of dancing, and many pitchers of harp.
S.R. having just gotten off a plane a few hours before, i was in that weird state where my mind and body were trying to catch up to the fact that after four hours in the air, i was indeed on the other side of the country. add to that the fact that i was on a blanket drinking wine on venice beach with a boy i found very charming. you leaned back and i sat forward still not really sure what your intentions were. you didn’t hesitate a second to sit back up and kiss me.
AE.B. i grabbed your face at the bar of our favorite local venue. someone snapped a picture and it’s still one of my fav pics of all time.
